Season:Core
Brand:Eq Bands
Code:EQBBUNDLE
The EQ Bands have been made and developed for complete functional training on and off the horse. With a wide array of benefits, these innovative bands will really make the most of rider's training and fitness sessions.
EQ Bands have been engineered by soft tissue therapist for performance horses and riders Dee So'oialo, who found that many issues in horses, such as lack of straightness, one sidedness and balance, stemmed from the riders. When used effectively, the EQ Bands can completely transform a rider's position and performance.
This bundle includes a pair of Body Bands, a Multi Anchor System and three Mini Bands to allow the rider or coach access to all the tools needed to develop a whole exercise regime. The Body Bands each feature ten small loops and two larger loops sewn in, which allow them to be used in a multitude of very simplistic but incredibly effective ways.
The three mini bands have varying resistance levels from grey, to orange, and then to blue, to provide different levels of resistance, dependent on muscular strength and endurance and which exercise. The Multi Anchor Strap means you can train wherever you are, whether that's the barn, at a show, or at home, so you can keep up the work away from the horses.
On the horse:
Both body bands can be used from opposing shoulder to ankle, or one band can be used purely on the riders weaker leg side to opposing shoulder. For a coach, using two bands makes it clear to see whether the rider is sitting straight, and to identify where a problem is coming from within the rider's position.
The grey and orange mini bands have been designed and developed to be the perfect resistance and size for riding, and EQ Bands recommend working up the resistance. The grey or orange band mini band can be used around the wrists, dependent on rider strength and endurance. The blue must not be used when on the horse.
Off the horse:
Out of the saddle, both the body bands and the mini bands can be used as part of a wide range of exercises to help improve balance, strength, coordination, and more.
"EQ Bands have made a huge difference to my riding through use both on and off the horse. Using them in training on a regular basis, both with Dee and on my own at home, they have really helped me target my weaknesses and focus more on my position, which is of course a huge part of riding and being the best I possibly can be.
The body bands have been brilliant for strengthening my weaker side and allowed me to target and strengthen key muscles, both through the resistance the band provides, as well as through feeling the difference it has created whilst on and then when taken off. The mini bands have also been great to help me focus on my hand position and keeping a steadier hand whilst riding, which makes a huge difference to my horse’s movement and maintaining a better contact.
Off the horse I use EQ almost every day training in the gym; the resistance they provide is perfect for improving strength, in addition to challenging stability by incorporating them into exercises that correspond to my riding - this I feel has made a huge impact on my riding, and the way I feel on the horse; I feel much more confident in my ability from feeling that much stronger and prepared for the task at hand."- Jasmine Underwood, Junior Europeans Gold and Silver Medalist 2022 and 2023
"I thought I had a reasonably good position until I used the bands for the first time...when I realised how much stronger I needed to be!! Riding with them made me engage the muscles that I needed to work more, and it wasn’t until I actually felt where these were that I was able to recreate that feeling, and start to strengthen them." - Charlotte Agnew, 5* International Event Rider
"I really like the position the bands help me find in the saddle. I feel much stronger in my upper body and better on each individual horse - it shows in their way of going and my riding." - Trevor Breen - Team Ireland International Showjumper
