Myler 3-Ring Combination Medium Wide Ported Barrel MB33 Level 3 Bit

Season:Core-CL

Brand:Myler

Code:89-3133

The Myler 3-Ring Combination Medium Wide Ported Barrell MB 33 Bit is a unique design using Myler's mildest mouthpiece in terms of tongue pressure. The generously wide port allows room for the tongue to pass almost completely under the bit. Because this mouthpiece does not rotate onto the tongue and the port is wide, it applies little to no tongue pressure, working primarily off the lips and bars. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ½" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure.

Because the MB 33 offers such a high degree of tongue relief, the horse that goes well in this mouthpiece has a trustworthy and consistent disposition and is trained to work off the leg and seat as well as the hands. A sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.

The 6" stainless steel 3-ring combination bit is a hybrid of a ring bit, shank bit, and hackamore and uses five different pressure points to disperse rein pressure. Because the noseband and chin strap are connected through the purchase, when the reins are engaged, the horse first feels nose, chin and poll pressure before he feels the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece can slide 1" before reaching a stop, where it will then engage and apply pressure. The purpose is to give the horse an opportunity to respond to the rider’s rein signals before applying mouthpiece pressure.

This Myler Combination Bit has Independent Swivel Cheeks with a top part that is slightly angled away from the cheek to prevent rubbing. The noseband is flat leather with knotted cord on either side and the chin strap is synthetic to avoid stretching over time.

The 3-ring combination bit offers three different rein positions: the big ring, middle ring and bottom ring:
Big Ring=No leverage
Middle Ring=Mild
Bottom Ring=Mild

If you ride with your rein attached to the big ring, it will function only as a direct rein snaffle and not apply nose, chin, poll pressure as a combination bit.
