The Stubben x EQUI Compress Front Stockings have been created as a result of the scientific work of equine physiotherapist Franzi Bechberger-Gaber, in collaboration with veterinarians and experts in the field of lymphology.
When a horse is immobile for long periods or is trained at an intensive rate, the lymphatic system and its metabolic waste evacuation might not function correctly, leading to leg swelling and slower tissue regeneration. The Stübben x EQUI Compress stockings were designed to counter this effect. They stimulate the lymphatic system through optimal pressure and effective pumping function. With the help of elaborate test procedures, the optimal pressure values were determined to positively influence the horse’s vascular system and enable preventive measures to be taken.
Compression therapy involves applying pressure from the extremities towards the heart to narrow blood vessels. This enhances blood circulation, improving the flow back to the heart and preventing edema or swelling. It also helps restore the functionality of the valves in veins and lymphatic vessels by bringing them closer, thus speeding up the removal of metabolic waste from the body.
Furthermore, EQUI Compress stimulates the fascia, improving tissue health, and relieves tension in the tendons with precise pressure application. Overall, they reduce congestion in the extremities, providing relief and well-being.
The Stubben x EQUI Compress Set consists of a pair of compression stockings that are pulled on over the horse's legs with the help of a
Dressing Aid (included), with a set of compression boots that are secured tightly over the top. The boots are knitted from silver ions infused yarn that prevents bacteria buildup. This helps protect irritated pastern tissue and the breathable material effectively manages moisture while providing a cooling sensation.
Inside the boots are carefully placed, fixed pads, which apply pressure to facilitate the removal of metabolic wastes from the extremities without compressing the vessels. Its texture, made of rounded bumps, stimulates the lymphatic system and fascia. Plus, when the horse moves, the resulting pump effect is conveyed to the suspensory ligament.
The use of the Stubben EQUI Compress is recommended:
- During rest periods and when kept in the stall
- During transport and at shows and events
- Specifically after periods of stress for accelerated regeneration
- To support against swollen legs and windgalls
